Today, aluminium profiles are encountered in every aspect of life. In some places they are used just for aesthetic purposes, while in others they form the structure itself. In other words, we frequently see architectural elements made entirely of aluminium profiles. The properties expected from profiles can vary depending on their intended use. With determining the desired properties of an aluminium profile, a suitable surface treatment is selected. Choosing the wrong surface finish can cause problems later on, so making the right choice is crucial.

Mill Finish Aluminium Profiles

The term “mill finish” refers to the aluminium profile has not undergone any coating, coloring, anodizing or other treatment.The profile’s appearance remains natural and raw, just as it comes out of the aluminium extrusion press. The profile is artificially aged and hardened, but its appearance remains unchanged. In short, mill finish means non-coated and non-anodized.

Powder Coated Aluminium Profiles

Powder coating is a process where powder particles are electrostatically sprayed onto the surface of aluminium profiles and then thermally bonded in a curing oven to form a hard layer. Offering unlimited RAL color options, this method is the most aesthetic and economical surface solution, providing durability for many years in outdoor environments.

This is one of the most popular surface treatments that provides both aesthetics and durability to the profile surface. 

Unlimited Color Options

All colors in the RAL color chart are applicable on profiles. You can choose the color you want for your architectural projects or orders. For example, RAL 9016 White, RAL 9005 Black, RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey and more.

Anodized Aluminium Profiles

Anodization is a treatment that converts the surface of an aluminium profile into a protective oxide layer through an electrochemical process, rather than adding an external coating to the metal’s surface.

This oxide layer becomes an integral part of the aluminum. It significantly increases corrosion resistance, surface hardness, and long-term durability. Unlike paint or other coatings, the anodized layer does not peel. It provides a robust and long-lasting surface finish even in harsh environments.

Anodized aluminium profiles are frequently used in architectural, industrial, and decorative applications due to their elegant appearance, excellent weather resistance, and low maintenance requirements. The electrochemical nature of this process also allows for a variety of surface treatments and colors, thus offering both functional protection and aesthetic flexibility.

The anodizing process consists of the following technical stages:

Etching: The natural oxide layer on the profile surface is removed. A homogeneous appearance is achieved by etching the surface in acidic or alkaline baths according to the desired level of matteness.

Electrolytic Oxidation: In sulfuric acid electrolyte baths, a porous structure is created on the aluminium profile surface by using aluminium as the anode.

Coloring: If coloring desired, metal salts are deposited into these pores using electro-deposition. This produces metallic colors such as bronze, champagne, black or natural silver. Other colors can also be obtained if desired.

Sealing: The resulting pores are sealed in high-temperature hydration baths, making corrosion resistance permanent. The colored surface is thus protected.

Wood Grain Aluminium Profiles

This is an option we offer for wood-look aluminium profiles, an advanced surface treatment technology that combines the beautiful aesthetics of natural wood with the corrosion resistance and structural strength of aluminium. This process is not just a pattern application, but a sublimation process where the paint layer is imprinted onto the profile surface at the molecular level.

Brushed Aluminium Profiles

This is a mechanical process that creates thin, parallel, and homogeneous lines on the surface of aluminium profiles, giving the metal a sophisticated look. This process highlights the metallic texture of the profile while softening light reflections and reducing fingerprints.
